I'm moving to Ghana for 6 months!
Yes, its true. That's what the last couple of posts have been building up to. I'm going to be doing some volunteer work for WiLDAF and Crossroads in Accra, Ghana. And I can't wait. I really hope that my work there help move toward the implementation of tangible helps for women and children in situations of family violence. I am hoping to make headway in getting to the bottom of why the system is not protecting women to the degree that it should be and I also hope to produce educational sessions in rural areas to help women understand what their rights are in domestic violence situations and how they can get the help they need.
Please pray for me while I am over there. I'm going to need it. But mostly, please pray for the voiceless women and children in Ghana who are suffering from family violence and do not know how to get help.
